Baptism of Children
You are a new creation in christ
Through baptism we are made children of the light, redeemed by God. We join the body of the Church as we are anointed priest, prophet and king.
At QMHR, baptisms of children under seven years old are held on the fourth Sunday of each month at 2:30 p.m. First-time parents must meet with a priest or deacon of the parish for an interview. Parents are also asked to complete a baptism preparation class (virtual/on-line at this time.)
Guidelines for Baptism
- We hope that the parents are active, registered members of the parish, but this is not a requirement.
- If you are registered in another parish, you may need a letter from that parish. Check with the priest/deacon at your interview.
- Call or email reception to make an appointment for an interview if this is your first baptism. If you have already baptized a child here, you may stop by the office to get an application form.
- We celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism in Spanish and in English on the 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month respectively.
- At least one of the Godparents must be an active, confirmed Catholic. One sponsor may be a Christian witness. For details on sponsors and for the sponsor form, click on the links below.
